INTERNSHIPS
Why should you choose an internship at Legacy Farmers Cooperative?
An internship with Legacy Farmers Cooperative is unlike any other! You will gain real-life work experience and first-hand knowledge as you spend your summer working at our locations. You have the opportunity to work and learn in each of our 4 divisions to get the full Legacy experience. All Legacy interns will complete a summer project and weekly reports, as well as have the unique opportunity to attend Growmark Conferences to network with other FS interns over the summer. Our internship program has been successful in placing summer interns into Full-Time positions after completing their internships.

“I really liked being able to learn more about the company and how it is operated. I also really liked being able to see how Agronomy works. The biggest things I learned were understanding how the company works, learning chemicals and dry fertilizers, and learning about Growmark as a whole. I would definitely recommend an internship at Legacy if you’re interested in Agronomy and Grain” Logan Boes, 2022 Intern
“I loved interning at Legacy because I felt like a true employee, I didn’t always do basic tasks. As the year went on, I got to do more advanced work based on my interests. I also liked how well-rounded the internship was. If I asked to learn more about something, they gave me the opportunity to learn. I highly recommend doing an internship with Legacy! Not only is the program well rounded but if there was something specific you wanted to learn, they can create a more personalized internship!” Maddie Heuerman, 2020 & 2021 Intern
“I enjoyed many opportunities while at Legacy like networking, customer interactions, employee interactions, scouting fields, solving problems, and learning experience on the job. My biggest takeaway would have to be the environment at Legacy. From the first day on the job, Legacy made me feel welcome. There were also goals I wanted to do and achieve during my internship, and Legacy made sure I got an opportunity to complete those goals. This internship gives you many avenues to learn and grow. Legacy really shows they see interns as their company’s future.” Aaron Rieman, 2022 & 2023 Intern
I enjoyed the work atmosphere at Legacy the most and that I was never made to feel bad for asking questions or for help. My biggest takeaway from my summer at Legacy is to always ask questions and educate yourself on as many things as you want. I would definitely recommend this internship because you see a whole new side of Agriculture and get to experience working with farmers first hand." Amara Day, 2023 Intern
"I loved meeting new people and having good, fun coworkers during my summer internship at Legacy. I would absolutely recommend this internship to other college students, especially those with a focus in Agriculture. I learned so much and now have connections to more farmers and Ag-related people." Gabrielle Nye, 2023 Intern
"I really enjoyed getting to learn from the Crop Specialists about pests, nutrient deficiencies, and staging crops. My top 2 takeaways from this internship are always take any opportunity you are given because you never know where it will lead. And Agriculture is for everyone, not just those who grew up on a farm. I would recommend this internship because it is a great experience to build your professional network and learn about the industry from seed, to crop, to harvest." Sarah Bash, 2023 Intern |
